Welcome to Housatonic Valley Regional High School!

We are honored that you are considering HVRHS for the education of your child. We recognize that you are sending us your most valuable possessions, and we appreciate the trust you place in our staff.

We believe in the potential for academic and personal growth in all of our students, and we are extremely proud of our teachers and our administrators who work tirelessly to help all students realize that potential.  Our students, staff, faculty, and historic building collectively make us “the jewel of the Northwest Hills.”

HVRHS offers numerous programs to help students along the path to success. Some recent examples include:

      • The ninth grade team facilitates the transition to high school, a time that presents great challenges for students. Through a variety of activities and programs, our teachers get to know their students on a personal level to provide them with the supports they need to realize success at the high school level.
      • The Student Assistance Team (StAT) that identifies students who are in need of academic, social, or behavioral support. Through this student-centered, individualized approach to education, our faculty members employ data and good old-fashioned caring to address student needs.
      • Our Advisory Program enhances connections between students and teachers in the belief that this will have a positive impact on student achievement. Students are connected with teachers who get to know them in a mentor capacity over the course of their time at HVRHS.

Every year, Housatonic boasts one of the best student-to-teacher ratios in the state, and this personal connection contributes to the great success of our students, whatever their plans are following graduation. Our course offerings allow our students to experience a broad range of subjects, and we are able to supplement those courses with online offerings.  We invite you to explore the resources available or, better still, arrange for a tour of the school to see what makes Housatonic Valley Regional High School such a special place to learn and grow.
