Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) is a proactive, comprehensive systemic and individualized continuum of support designed to provide opportunities to all students, including students with disabilities, for achieving social and learning success, while preventing problem behaviors. HVRHS is excited to be implementing PBIS to encourage all members of our community to self-regulate and make thoughtful choices in their academic, social and personal behavior. The behavior expectations at HVRHS are: To be Respectful; To be Responsible; and To be Safe. Lessons will be taught as a component of the PBIS initiative. There will be frequent positive reinforcement for behavior that contributes to creating an environment that is respectful, responsible, and safe. In addition to individual reinforcement, school-wide reinforcement will occur to increase positive behaviors. |
