~ Announcements for Monday, November 4, 2013 ~
Today is a Blue Monday schedule; Blocks are A, Activity #1, B, E & F.
THE LATE BUS IS AT 5:30 PM.

Lunch: Hot Dog on a roll, Mac & Cheese, steamed carrots & baked beans.
A La Carte: Veggie Lasagna.

JUNIOR CLASS RINGS:
On Thursday of this week Josten’s will be here for Advisory Block to present to the Junior class information on Junior Class Rings. Then they will come back on November 14 to collect orders and money during all lunches.

COLLEGE & CAREER RESOURCE CENTER:
On Monday (11/4) at 8:30 am a representative from Ithaca College will be in the CCRC to talk with interested students. This college is new to the list as of yesterday and is of particular interest to those students planning to major in Physical Therapy, Music and Communications.
St. Joseph’s College of Maine – 10:30 am on Monday 11/4
Hartwick College – 1:30 pm on Tuesday 11/5
Castleton State – 8:00 am on Friday 11/8
All interested students should see Mrs. Beaujon in the CCRC, room 101, for a pass.
Remember this is your opportunity to talk with the representative that will be reading your application first.

GIRLS SOCCER:
The Girls Soccer will host a First Round State Tournament Game vs. St. Paul at 2:00 pm.

VOLLEYBALL:
The Volleyball team will host a First Round State Tournament Game vs. Terryville at 7:00 pm.

BOYS SOCCER:
On Tuesday, the Boys Soccer team will play Lyman Memorial at 2:00 pm.

SPORTS AWARDS:
The Fall Sports Awards Night is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 pm. The program will take place in the Auditorium with a dessert social following in the cafeteria.

A REMINDER TO SENIORS:  
The deadline for the Class of 2014 White Oak Yearbook advertising campaign is November 1. This is your opportunity to earn a free yearbook while helping the senior class raise money that will go directly towards the cost of producing your class yearbook. Information was distributed in advisory groups. See Ms. McLeod if you have any questions. In the meantime, let’s sell some ads!

NCCC Partnership Program:  
As part of our Partnership Program with NCCC, Juniors and Seniors can get a jump start on their college education by taking FREE college courses while in high school. With the partnership program, students with a B or better average can take two college courses and earn up to 8 college credits per semester at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. These credits can be used towards your degree at NCCC or be transferred to a number of four year institutions, saving you hundreds of dollars in tuition costs.  Interested students should see Ms. McLeod or your guidance counselor for more information. Registration deadline for the spring semester is November 15.

2013 YEARBOOKS:
The 2013 yearbooks are in; if you ordered a copy you can pick it up at the high school main office. There is a limited number of extras books if you did not purchase one you can still do so for $65.00.

DRIVER’S ED:
