JUNIOR CLASS RINGS:
Jostens was here last Thursday during class advisory to hand out information packets to order class rings. If you did not receive one you can pick one up at the main office. Jostens will be back today, November 14 to collect orders and money during all lunches
The academic bowl team will not practice this week.
The annual Turkey Olympics will take place in the gym right after school on Friday, Nov 22. This fun competition, sponsored by the SGA, has been won recently by the faculty/staff team. Last year’s freshman class bested all of the others for the first time ever! Come to participate +/or cheer on your team.
There is an exceptional overnight Leadership Conference open to an HVRHS sophomore (paid for by the school). Talk to senior Emma Cohn for details, and email Mr. Peck if interested.
ATTENTION FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THE CLASS OF 2014:
The December 1 deadline for placing orders for personal ad space in the 2014 White Oak yearbook is rapidly approaching! Order forms and instructions were mailed home to all senior parents in late September. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to show your graduate how proud you are of his/her accomplishments! Dear Hello Dolly Auditioners:
Thank you again for taking the time to prepare and audition for HELLO, DOLLY! The cast list is no available at the main office. We are very excited about this amazing cast and look forward to starting rehearsals! Please note that the first rehearsal and mandatory parent meeting will take place in the auditorium on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8 — Parent/Student meeting from 12-12:30 pm, and rehearsal from 12:30-4 pm.
Congratulations! Please confirm by email your acceptance of your role as soon as possible (but no later than Nov. 14)!
NCCC Partnership Program:
As part of our Partnership Program with NCCC, Juniors and Seniors can get a jump start on their college education by taking FREE college courses while in high school. With the partnership program, students with a B or better average can take two college courses and earn up to 8 college credits per semester at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. These credits can be used towards your degree at NCCC or be transferred to a number of four year institutions, saving you hundreds of dollars in tuition costs. Interested students should see Ms. McLeod or your guidance counselor for more information. Registration deadline for the spring semester is November 15.
WINTER SPORTS MEETINGS:
There will be team meeting for anyone interested in Boys Basketball on Thursday, Nov. 14 immediately after school in the gym; Girls Basketball on Monday, Nov. 18 immediately after school in Room 133; and Wrestling on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 pm in Room 133.
The Football Team will be playing a Sub Varsity Game at Granby on Saturday, November 16 at 3:30pm. The bus will leave the high school at 1:30 pm.
WINTER MUSIC CONCERT:
The Winter Music Concert will be Friday, December 13 at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. The snow date is Monday, Dec. 16.
HOLIDAY PRODUCTION NIGHT 2013:
Members of the Housatonic Valley FFA Chapter invite Alumni members, parents and friends to the annual Holiday Production Nights on Wednesday, December 4 & Thursday, December 12 from 7-9 pm. Join in the fun: make and decorate wreaths, enjoy refreshments, and earn points for your friends and children.

The 2013 yearbooks are in; if you ordered a copy you can pick it up at the high school main office. There is a limited number of extras books if you did not purchase one you can still do so for $65.00.
